Biography

Dr Khwazbeen Saida received her B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Sulaimani in 1979. She went on to receive an M.Sc. in Simulation from the University of Wales in the UK in 1985 and a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from the University of Glamorgan in the UK in 2009.

Since 1986, Dr. khwazbeen has served as an assistant lecturer, lecturer, and assistant professor in the Mathematics Department at the College of Science, Salahaddin University in Iraq. Throughout her time in the position, she has taken on a number of extra responsibilities:

  •  Director of the Computer & Internet Center at Salahaddin University (1997-2004)
  •  Computer Supervisor for the Central Bureau for Admission at Salahaddin          University (1998-2002)
  • Internet Supervisor for the Safeen Center for International Communications (1996-1998)
  • Internet Supervisor for the Kurdistan National Assembly in Erbil (1998-2000).

In addition, to enhance the capacity of the Iraqi higher education system, she directed a project supported by the DelPHE program from the British Council, to establish the quality assurance for Salahaddin University in collaboration with Coventry University from 2010 to 2012.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Khwazbeen has been actively involved in coordinating and hosting numerous international and domestic workshops and conferences. Additionally, she has  published numerous papers in applied mathematics and applied statistics in both international and national journals.
