Biography

Shareef holds a BSc in Physics from Mosul University, Iraq, obtained in 1990. He earned an MSc in Digital Communications Networks with distinction from London Metropolitan University, UK, in 2005. In 2007, Shareef worked as an expert at the ICT Centre of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He joined the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering at the University of East London, UK, as a PhD student in April 2009 and successfully completed his PhD in 2012. During this period, he also worked as an hourly paid lecturer at the University of East London.

Additionally, Shareef has published numerous papers and has participated in reviewing various conference papers and international journals. He is a member of several professional bodies in his field of specialization and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the UK in 2011.

From 2012 to 2017, Shareef served as the head of the Software and Informatics Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Salahaddin University-Erbil, Iraq. Subsequently, he worked as the Dean of the College of Education and Languages at Lebanese French University-Erbil, Kurdistan-Iraq, and also held the position of Director of Postgraduate Studies from 2017 to 2021. Shareef has supervised numerous MSc and PhD students in his area of expertise.

Currently, Shareef serves as the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies at Salahaddin University.
