Biography
Arshad Abdulkhalq Yaseen was born on May 1, 1986, in Erbil, Iraq. He began his bachelor's degree in 2005 at Salahaddin University-Erbil, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, department of plant production. In 2009, he placed third out of 59 students. In October 2009, he started working as an assistant agricultural engineer (demonstrator) at the same university for two years. Following that, in 2010, he was awarded the Human Capacity Scholarship (HCDP) by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to study master's degree abroad.
Arshad Abdulkhalq Yaseen travelled to the United Kingdom in September 2011 and began studying academic English for 11 months at Frisby's College in Norwich, UK. He was registered as a Master student in September 2012 at Writtle College, which is now a partnership with Anglia Ruskin University ARU, University of Essex in Chelmsford, UK. On November 16th, 2013, he was able to successfully complete his MSc in Horticulture (crop production).
From 2017 until August 2018, he was the manager of the college’s research field (Grdarasha agriculture field). In June 2018, he achieved his new scientific title, which was changed from assistant lecturer to lecturer. In addition, in 2018, he could also achieve a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship to study PhD in Hungary.
In September 2018, he enrolled at the University of Debrecen and began his PhD studies at the "Kálmán Kerpely Doctoral School, University of Debrecen." He could publish a total of 13 publications, with 11 articles in the 4 years of doing his PhD study, in national and international journals with Scopus and impact factors. On November 11th 2022, he could achieve a PhD in crop production and horticulture/organic agriculture with excellent ‘Summa cum laude', which is the metric for the highest distinction. Now, he is a lecturer at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, Department of Horticulture, Salahaddin University-Erbil. He is a member of the agricultural engineering syndicate as well as Kurdistan teachers’ syndicate.
