Biography

DARA K. MOHAMMAD, PhD

Background:

I grew up in Kurdistan of Iraq, Erbil- city – I did my PhD (May 2015) in Cancer Cell Biology at the Karolinska Institutet/Sweden in Professor CIE Edvard Smith's research group, where I also defended my thesis with him as my supervisor.

Research interest:

Immuno-cell signaling and cancer development, hematopoiesis, signal transduction of Engineered Extracellular Vesicles and molecular basis of diseases.

I became interested in engineering Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) using exosomal-fusion protein constructs to enrich selected proteins into EVs for therapeutic application “I would like to work with something difficult” 

 

Family:

My wife is Dr. TRESKA S. HASSAN and we have three sons (ALAND, SAHAND and LAWAND).

Best ways to spend free time: Running, Playing Tennis, and traveling–discovering new places!
