Biography
DARA K. MOHAMMAD, PhD
Background:
I grew up in Kurdistan of Iraq, Erbil- city. I did my PhD (May 2015) in Cancer Cell Biology at the Karolinska Institutet/Sweden in Professor CIE Edvard Smith's research group, where I also defended my thesis under his supervision.
Research interest:
Immuno-cell signaling and cancer development, hematopoiesis, signal transduction of Engineered Extracellular Vesicles and molecular basis of diseases.
I became interested in Extracellular Engineering Vesicles (EVs) using exosomal-fusion protein constructs to enrich selected proteins into EVs for therapeutic application. "I would like to work with something difficult."
Family:
My wife is Dr. Treska S. Hassan, and we have three sons (ALAND, SAHAND, and LAWAND).
Best ways to spend free time: Reading, Running, Playing Tennis, and traveling–discovering new places!
