Biography

Dr. Faris Zaidan Jarjees is a dedicated academic and researcher in the field of Environmental Sciences and Health, currently serving as a lecturer at Salahaddin University-Erbil. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences in 2011, graduating at the top of his department and third in his college. He furthered his education with a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Nottingham University, UK, in 2014, and recently completed his PhD in Environmental Health in 2024 at Salahaddin University-Erbil. 

Since joining Salahaddin University-Erbil as a lecturer in September 2015, Dr. Jarjees has been passionate about advancing the understanding of environmental health and addressing critical environmental issues. He teaches a range of subjects within the Environmental Sciences Department, including Environmental Toxicity, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), GIS, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Biodiversity, Waste Management, and Environmental Health. 

Dr. Jarjees is committed to enhancing his expertise in health and safety and has participated in numerous workshops and training courses both in Iraq and internationally. His involvement in the 2018 international project "CHANGE AT NEXT STOP," held in Bonn, Germany, reflects his dedication to sustainable environmental education and climate change solutions for the MENA region. 

With six published scientific articles to his name, Dr. Jarjees has contributed significantly to the academic community. He continues to engage in research and training, striving to make a positive impact in the field of environmental sciences. Since 2022, he has also been involved with the Department Rappoutur, furthering his contributions to the academic landscape at Salahaddin University-Erbil.
