Biography
Mr. Polla is an Assistant Lecturer in the Architecture Department with a specialization in sustainable architecture at Salahaddin University-Erbil. His research/pedagogical interests include Sustainable Architectural Design, Building Simulation, and Low Impact Materials, considering architectural design within a broad social, environmental, and economic context. His most recent publication is "Integration of solar panels with the architectural context of residential buildings, Erbil city as a case study."
He graduated with MSc in sustainable architecture at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom on a merit-based scholarship to study for a master's degree in the UK, as he graduated ranking first on the department during his bachelor degree in 2006-2011. He is an award-winning researcher and architect, recently he was announced as a winner of “ROME-MED Dialogues 2021- “Youth Forum Contest – Green & Sustainable Solutions for the Future” in Rome, Italy. Furthermore, a winner of Innovation Competition on Sustainable Energy-2017 by UNDP-Iraq.
Currently, he teaches Architectural design studio (Third stage), Computer skills (First stage), and Computer applications- AutoCAD (First stage).
