Biography

I began my academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in the English department and applied linguistics from Salahaddin University, and I developed a strong foundation in methodology, TESOL, and technology tools in teaching. During my undergraduate studies, I was particularly interested in methods of teaching, which led me to pursue an undergraduate research project on teaching.

Following this, I completed a master’s degree in applied linguistics at Salahaddin University. My master’s coursework depended on both pure linguistics and applied linguistics, and my thesis focused on “The Implication of Functional and Notional Approach in Teaching Sunrise Programme”, supervised by “Assist. Prof. Salam Nawkhosh.”

Next, I pursued a PhD in “The Effectiveness of Teaching Vocabulary: Teaching Strategies to Enhance EFL University Students’ Vocabulary Performance: A Training Course Based on Reading Skill,” where my research focused on vocabulary, which has been recognized as an important component of using language efficiently.

Throughout my academic career, I have research publications, many training courses, and achievements. In addition to research, I worked as an assistant researcher at the College of Basic Education in 2007 and then as an instructor at Salahaddin University since 2013. I have served as an instructor for undergraduate and graduate (Higher Diploma) courses in different modules, and I developed my skills in teaching using various methods, curriculum design, and student mentoring.

Research Interest

I am primarily interested in applied linguistics and specifically in Methods of Teaching and educational technology, particularly using digital tools that enhance learning outcomes. My interest in this area began during my master's studies, where I conducted research on a specific approach to teaching a program. This experience highlighted the gap between theory and practical interventions.
