Biography

Rizgar Mahmood pursued his academic endeavours at California State University, Northridge in the USA, where he earned a Master's degree in Linguistics/TESL. After graduating in 2019, he devoted himself to teaching as an assistant lecturer at Salahaddin University, Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan until 2022. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Applied Linguistics/Second Language Acquisition, exploring the effectiveness of pronunciation instruction and corrective feedback on the development of L2 learners' pronunciation.

His research interests span across diverse areas such as Corrective Feedback, L2 Motivation, Teacher Cognition, Language Identity, Language & Culture, Language Learner Strategies, and classroom-based practices. As a Fulbright Alumni, Rizgar is committed to exploring innovative ways to enhance the quality of language education.

Rizgar's passion for language learning and teaching is reflected in his scholarly pursuits. He aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the field of Applied Linguistics by shedding light on the interplay between various linguistic, cultural, and social factors that influence language learning outcomes.
