Biography

I am Professor Tariq Khidhr Hassan, born in 1970 in Erbil/Makhmour, Iraq. My academic journey began with a Diploma from the Erbil Teachers' Training Institute in 1988, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Salahaddin University-Erbil in 1998. I further earned my Master's degree in Geography from the same university in 2006, where I completed my thesis on "Geographical Analysis of Temperature Characteristics in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq." My academic pursuit culminated with a Ph.D. from the University of Mosul in 2013, with my dissertation focusing on "Spatial Analysis of Terrain's Impact on Agricultural Land Use Using Modern Techniques in Shaqlawa District."

My general specialization lies in Human Geography, with particular expertise in Agricultural Climatology. Currently serving as Professor at Salahaddin University-Erbil's Department of Geography (having been promoted from Assistant Professor on 15 March 2023), I have actively engaged in academic trainings, language courses, and research workshops throughout my career. I have contributed to numerous conferences and had the privilege of supervising multiple Master's theses and Ph.D. dissertations in my field.

  Research Interest

My research interests primarily focus on climatology, climate variability, and their geographical impacts, along with agricultural geography emphasizing agricultural climatology and modern technologies. My work also extends to environmental issues including degradation, pollution, and land-use changes, given their critical implications for sustainability and regional development.                                                                                 Publications
