Biography

Saman Qadir Mawlud was born in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, in 1973. He received the BSc. degree in Physics from the University of Salahaddin, Erbil, Iraq in 1998, the M.Sc. degree in Laser Physics from the University of Salahaddin, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in nanomaterial glass science in between University Technology Malaysia and the University of Salahaddin through a split site program, Johor Bahru, Malaysia, in 2017. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Physics, and has been the Director of the Laboratory of Optics and Laser, since 2006. He is a member of advanced optical material research group (AOMRG). He has published more than 30 scientific papers in the field of Optical materials for solid state laser and laser fiber communication systems. His research interests include aging mechanisms of laser diode, absorption and luminescence properties of rare earth material for laser action, embedding NPs into glass matrix, thermal and structure characteristics of tellurite glass doped with rare earth and embedded with NPs.
