Biography
Akhter A Ahmed was born in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. She received the BSc. degree in Micrbiology from the University of Salahaddin, Erbil, Iraq in 1995, the M.Sc. degree and PhD in Medical Bacteriology from the University of Salahaddin in 2000 and 2019 respectively. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Biology. She has published more than 23 scientific papers in national and international journals in the field of Microbiology. Her research interests include pathogenic microorganisms, natural inhibitors of microbial virulence, Quorum sensing and quorum quenching in pathogenic bacteria.
