Mrs. Fenk is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at University of Salahaddin-Erbil, where she has been a faculty member since 2009. She obtained her BS in Architecture from Salahaddin university–Erbil. She continued her M.Sc. in Sustainable Building and Environment at Newcastle University -United Kingdom. She has been awarded an HCDP (Human Capacity Development Program) Scholarship to study a master's degree in the UK as she graduated ranking first on the department during her bachelor's degree.
Her research interests include Sustainable Architecture, Environmental Design in Architecture, Building Technologies and Physics, Building Performance Simulation, Heritage building, and Historical retrofits. Considering architectural design within a broad social, environmental, and economic context.
She has published four research papers in recognized architecture and built environment-related journals and participated in academic conferences both locally and abroad.
Her researches mainly focused on interactions between the built environment, the natural environment, and the political economy in the Kurdistan region. Hence she is now exploring traditional techniques and elements on new projects as a cooling system and then evaluates its performance via Green BIM tools.
During her career as an Architecture designer, she worked for two renowned companies For consulting engineering and then working for (BUNYAN Consultant Engineering Bureau) as a Founding member and a practitioner architect since it founded in 2010 till now. Participating as an architect in designed and preparing a set of architecture drawing for several important projects in Erbil city.
she is been teaching Architectural design studio (First stage) and Environment (Fourth stage), Urban design 4th stage.
Currently, she is a Ph.D. student at salahaddin university -Erbil
