Biography

Dr. Mahmood Salam, was born in 1988 in Erbil, Iraq. I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 2010 at Salahaddin University, Erbil. Driven by my passion for sports and management, I continued my academic journey by pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sports Management at Akdeniz University in Turkey, and I earned my Ph.D. in Sports Management in 2023.

In addition to my academic achievements, I am a former international Taekwondo athlete with a proud record of 7 international medals. My commitment to Taekwondo extends beyond my years as a competitor, as I am also an international Taekwondo referee, where I continue to contribute to the sport through my officiating and knowledge.

Currently, I serve as the International Relations representative for the Iraq Taekwondo Federation. In this role, I work to build and strengthen relationships with global sports organizations while promoting the growth and development of Taekwondo in Iraq.
