Saad M. Mahmud graduated from Salahaddin University, College of languages in 2011.  He completed his M.A. degree in Writing and Literature from Deakin University/ Burwood campus in Australia in 2016. His specialty is professional  and creative fiction and non- fiction writing. He officially started teaching at Salahaddin university in October 2018. Before that, he used to teach English as a part-time job in language centers in Erbil city. He also previously taught Pronunciation to the students of English department evening classes at College of Basic Education of Salahaddin University. 

He is currently teaching Short Story and Novel to 2nd Year Students at the English Language Department. He has taught Poetry at the English Language Department at College of Language to 2nd Year Students. Prior to this, he also taught Language Communication module to sophomore students of College of Languages, German Dept.. and College of Basic Education, English Dept., evening classes. His teaching experience include teaching General English and English for Specific Purposes ESP to the freshers at Kurdish, French and German Departments of College of Languages .
