Biography

Karwan Y. Kareem was born in the 8th February 1982 at Erbil city, Kurdistan-Iraq.

In year 2002, he enrolled in University of Salah al-Din, Erbil, Iraq to pursue his first degree. In year 2005, he obtained Bachelor degree in Animal Resources, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Salah al-Din, Erbil, Iraq. He joined the Department of Animal resources as a demonstrator the same year.

In 2008, he started his Masters’ degree in Poultry Management from Department of Animal Resources, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Salah al-Din, Erbil, Iraq and finished in 2010. After graduation, he was employed at the same university as an assistant Lecturer in 2010.

In 2011, he was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Higher Education, Kurdistan to pursue a Doctoral degree which brought him to Malaysia in 2012 for his PhD program at University Putra Malaysia. He finished his PhD program in poultry production in 2016. His area of research interest is poultry production, management, Poultry behavior and welfare, nutrition and feed additives. He studied Postdoc in Poland, Warsaw University of Life Science at 17/1/2022 till 16/1/2023. He published several papers in international journals which has high impact factor (IF). He is Assistant Professor and lecturer in Animal Science Dept. in college of Agriculture Engineering science, Salahaddin University, Erbil.
